VoucherGrid is now live for Australian businesses that sell products, services, classes, stays and experiences.
It grew from a familiar small-business problem: gift vouchers scattered across booking-system products, notes, spreadsheets and memory. A sale was easy enough to record. Keeping track of what happened afterwards was harder.
A voucher can stay active for years. It can be partly redeemed, used by someone other than the buyer, or brought back to a different member of staff. Its balance and history need a proper home.
That is what VoucherGrid is built to provide.
Sell where your customers are
On Premium and Professional, you can sell through a hosted online storefront, add checkout to your own website, or send a payment link for a phone sale. Staff can also record in-person voucher sales.
Online card payments run through your connected Stripe account. There is no VoucherGrid commission on voucher sales; Stripe processing fees still apply.
A paid online purchase creates the digital voucher and sends it by email, so the customer does not have to wait for someone to make it manually.
Make the gift feel like your business
Voucher Studio brings the artwork, voucher details, terms and QR code into a consistent digital layout.
The Image Library offers designs created and curated in-house. Eligible plans can use their own imagery and offer a choice of up to three designs on a product, so a buyer can choose the look that suits the recipient.
You do not need to rebuild the voucher layout every time you change the artwork.
Keep one balance and a clear history
Staff can redeem a voucher by entering its code or scanning its QR code. Full and partial redemptions update the remaining balance, with the events kept in the voucher's history.
The same record follows the voucher from issue to redemption. Staff can see what remains without reconstructing it from an old email, a handwritten note or somebody else's memory.
Voucher-level records and sale and redemption histories give the business a clearer operational trail. They also give your accountant evidence to review.
Built around Australian voucher rules
VoucherGrid includes expiry guardrails and records the face value voucher or non-face value voucher category alongside the transaction evidence.
Those records support your business processes. Your accountant and legal adviser still help you decide the treatment and terms that apply to your business.
What is still to come
Xero and QuickBooks connections and journal delivery are not available in this launch. The complete accounting liability, GST and breakage reporting outputs are also still being completed.
The voucher balances and operational histories available today should not be mistaken for those accounting reports. We will announce the accounting release separately when it is available.

Built from a real business problem
VoucherGrid began inside Water Lily House, the Warrnambool business my wife Pai and I have run since 2015.
The first internal experiment taught me that a voucher needed its own ledger. The platform that followed grew around the practical work of selling, delivering and redeeming vouchers, and keeping a reliable record of each step.
Now other Australian businesses can use it too.
